Suggested Requirements

Here is a list of things that I consider requirements of the modern Fianna. I called them suggestions because I don't want it to appear that I am dictating what the requirements of the Fianna should be, this is my opinion only but that may change if I get more support. If you wish to join me in my Fian, no such thing right now, then this is what I expect to a degree. I would never expect anyone to meet all the requirements, because I know I don't. These are my goals as well.

• Training in open hand combat, hand-to-hand weapon combat, and firearms.
• Basic first aid and buddy care, possibly even CPR.
• Know the myths and legends of Ireland, specifically the Ulster and Osien Cycle.
• Be involved in local/national religious rights groups.
• Read and write poetry, possibly even be able to write in the Irish/Welsh meters.
• Study your genealogy. This is important for all CR folk.
• Each unit of Fianna should "attach" itself to a grove or tribe. These are the folks you will support and protect.
• If wearing period (5th century to 10th century CE) dress, the warrior caste wore 3 colors, white and black are not counted as a color. I think it appropriate to continue this practice.
